I bought it about a month ago off a friend of my mother's (this lady is notorious for selling awesome used cars for cheap). This thing looked awesome (not even any rust that is famous with that year 4runner). Last night a I was showing it to a friend that said he thought he heard it knocking, I agreed it sounded a little rough but no big thing. Today I went to pick up my daughter from a soccer game and I thought I heard it again, but it was very faint. Parked it for an hour or so and took everyone out to eat. About 10 minutes from the house it started to lose a little power and knocking pretty bad (I was hoping to make it to the next stop, which happened to be Wal Mart). I parked it and noticed the oil gage was on "L". Popped the hood and pulled out the dipstick to find there wasn't any oil. Went into Wal Mart purchased 5 quarts and it took it all.
There have been NO signs of leakage (on the driveway or at work), and no signs under the hood or under the vehicle (there is a VERY small amount on one of the hoses located right beside where you put the oil in).
WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE.I went from a 95 S-10 that I have had minimal problems with (first car I ever purchased) to this 95 Toyota (both had 140,000) thinking I was making a nice little upgrade for the next 2-3 years. And now I am worried that I am going to be into major repairs only a month after I bought the thing. The lady I bought it off of is someone I have known for years and she said she had never had any problems out of it, and I do not drive my vehicles hard at all. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks
Jonathan
