Hello,

The vehicle listed above is a European version car. BK 1.6 TDCI. The issue I have is this: The light selector on the left side of the wheel has 3 positions: Off / 1 dot and a pictogram with lights. When I purchased the car, in the " Off " position when I started the car, the low beams and the parking lights were always on. Fter a mechanic replaced the cabin air filter, he forgot to disconnect the battery and took down the pjb. He connected back the pjb with battery connected and some relays in the pjb went on and off, half the car illumination was off, example. Only right blinkers worked left when actuated did nothing. The mechanic removed the battery and connected it back.
The car worked but since then, on the off position, the dash lights and park lights flickered. I changed the pjb with a second hand one, did a diagnostic on the car, all clean. Changed all the light bulbs: glovebox / tail / AC / ashtray everything new. Now when I start the car, in the off position, I get the low beams and sometimes the park light turns on and I have light in the dash also. Sometimes it flickers 2 or 3 times. When I position the lever at the dot or the pictogram with the light, all the lights are on, glovebox / low beams / par light / dash backlight illumination. Before that, when it was daytime, the dash backlight was off and at night it would auto turn on, when the lever was at off. European version car. Please help.

It sounds like the issue with the car's TNS (Tail, Number Plate and Side) relay. This relay controls the power supply to the parking lights, dashboard lights, and other related systems. It could be the BCM is going out as well, let's try a CAN scan which is easy to do, you can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) from Amazon.

Here is a video to show you how:

and

Please go over these guides and report back.

I was looking all over the internet for the TNS relay location. It seems that it is inside the PJB that I already swapped. I might be mistaken about the TNS relay location. I will look into the manual to see the specific connector that has the TNS relay coms and check wires. And about the CAN scan, I did a full scan of the car, everything clean. I had 2 errors B2212 and some high battery voltage. But those might be residual error codes from the previous PJB. After the clean error codes. I drove the car 5 minutes and redid the full test and no errors were present.
