While adding oil, I think a tiny bit of tin foil from the seal may have gotten into the oil filler funnel that runs down and is attached to the outside of the right cylinder head and then goes down and make a little right angle turn and is attached by a plate. Looks like it enters into the cylinder head, even with or a little below the valve train.

Was wondering is it worth taking the funnel and plate off the cylinder head to look for it or does it go into a straight passageway down into the oil pan where it will be trapped assuming there is a filter before the pump?

My concern is that it will block an oil passageway or something else I am not aware of.

Thanks for the help.

Good evening.

In the oil pan is the pickup screen. That is a very fine filter before going into the oil pump. Chances of it getting into the oil system is very slim.

I would start by draining the oil and seeing if it made it to the oil pan.

If it did not then remove the valve cover and look for the debris.

Should not be a real problem. The oil goes down the inlet into the oil pan, then it has to go through the strainer on the pump, if the piece of foil gets drawn through the strainer it will go out of the pump and through to the filter. That is where it will get trapped.
