Timing from the aspect completely off?

Can't tell if there's timing guides or not. There's plenty of pictures of the side I don't need. So, it's completely off and looking at the lines of the marks. How do I know what teeth and TDC are supposed to be pictured? It's an XLT model. If you need more info, please let me know as I'm doing this for my grandpa.

The ignition timing is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module and is not adjustable. Here is how the timing chain is installed. I believe this is what you are talking about. Check out the images (below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
