What would cause a timing chain to jump and brake teeth after a clutch change?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros. Com.

That is a good question. The two are not related, so the only thing I can say is either it is coincidental or it was loose and the clutch grabbing properly was enough change in the RPM's to allow it to break.

If you have pictures of the belt and broken pulley, can you upload it so I can see exactly what has happened?

Take care,
Joe

If the engine was rotated anti clock wise and the tension taken off the timing chain could that have caused chain to jump and brake teeth?

Hi again. Anything is possible, but that should not have caused a problem.

Glad to help. I wish I could give you a clean cut answer, but nothing you did should have caused it to break.

Take care,
Joe
