We had four of the six piston rings replaced last week, under warranty, by the dealer. This week, my timing belt breaks and they are quoting $3,700.00 to fix it. When the engine was apart to fix the piston rings, could they not have seen that the timing belt was going? They told me the timing belt was not "scheduled maintenance" until 100,000 miles when I was there last week.

they should have as they had to pull heads to replace the rings. Some just do not do much to make more money.
