When I try to start the car, it will not crank over, keeps saying service theft deterrent. I have tried everything on the internet, and nothing is working.

There are a number of things that can cause this, so we need to start from the beginning. That means we need to check for codes and find out what is there as we most likely have a code telling us what the issue is.

Most newer scan tools or code readers will work but we just need to make sure we use one that can read body codes.

I am attaching some info below that will help with this, but we need the code and go from there.

Let me know what questions you have. Thanks

Hi,

Does the starter turn the engine and it not start, or is the starter not working as well? Also, I don't know what you have tried, but if you haven't already, try this.

Turn the key to the run position and allow it to sit for approximately 10 minutes. At that point, the theft light should turn off and the engine should start.

Also, take a look through this link and let me know if it helps:

Let me know,

Joe

I have tried everything under the sun that the internet suggests. The 10-minute key on. Blah blah. It will not crank. The theft deterrent light comes on, stays on. Will not blink or anything.

Yep. None of that is going to work because you have an actual fault in the system that has to be repaired first and then the system will operate again.

That code is telling you that there is a wiring issue or a short with in a module.

I am attaching the testing below that we need to run through in order to figure out what to do.

Here is a guide that will help with this type of testing:

Please run through this info and let us know what you find or what questions you have.

Thanks
