After changing a rear wheel. The rear suspension is stuck high. The front is responsive and moves up and down. This happened previously during and mot test and the mechanic simple plugged in the computer and got the rear to come down. This time the mecanic can not acces the ECU. He thinks it might be because there is different software for my car (British) and his computer (french). Are there any common solutions to this problem? Could it be the software?

I suspect you're over-thinking this. I tried to look up your suspension parts. My source doesn't show a picture, but from the price and the description, it sounds like you have struts in the rear. They call it a shock absorber, but regardless of its name, struts will occasionally hang up when they are fully extended, as in jacking the car up to change a tire. If you're lucky, you can jolt it free by pushing on the car, but when that happens to me, I just go out and drive it. It never takes long before it lets go and settles back down to where it should be.
