Temperature gauge-cooling fans

Temperature gauge inoperable. I replaced coolant temperature sensor still not working. Disconnect battery cables hold together for two minutes reinstall cables. Check engine light out gauge works. Day later, driving for an hour or so gauge is fine gauge then drops to zero and as soon as that happens both cooling fans come on and run continues until I turn key off. Is this what I suspect a PCM issue? Code was 0480.

Hey Kenny,

Yes, you got it on the money we had another user report the same thing a few months back, it was the ECM. Here is the location of the ECM (below):
