It was fine until the transmission went out three weeks ago. I got the transmission replaced but as I was driving it out, the tachometer needle started jumping between 1000 and 2000 RPM and the car lurches repeatedly while it does. The mechanic said it's probably some filter in the engine but he needs some time to look at it. I don't know if the transmission he gave me was bad (it was supposedly re-manufactured) or if he broke something else in the car in the process of replacing it. No check engine light but the coolant light is oddly stuck on now. This never happened before having my transmission replaced and it happened immediately trying to drive out of the garage. I don't know if they gave me a bad transmission, or if they broke something else in the process of replacing it. Any thoughts on what my problem might be?
