Heater problem 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 80,000 miles

My heater works but when I stop the truck at a stop light the heater blows cool air, then I hammer down on the gas and it blows warm air again. I was just wonder what the problem is. I have checked the coolant and it's full

This sounds like you have a heater core that is plugged, remove both heater hoses and connected a garden hose and turn it on. This should blow any blockage out from it.

The heater may be leaking, check coolant level, pressure test coolant system if level is low
