when I try to fill up my tank, no matter how far in the nozzle is or if I flip it upside down or sideways, my tank regurgitates the gas or it shuts of the nozzle constantly

It's possible that the vent for the fuel hose filler is kinked, or blocked, it either runs beside the filler hose, or inside the filler hose. Your engine light may also be coming on with this issue.
