Engine Mechanical problem
1996 Suzuki Esteem 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I had just replaced the distributor on my car, started up, drove to the store and back. When I tried to leave my house again, I tried to start the car and it made this loud grinding noise (kind of like when you have the car already on and try to start it again) and it wouldn't start. Could replacing the distributor cause this problem or is the starter bad? Thanks for any help.

HI there,

This will be a starter problem, get it checked before you damage the drive plate, if the drive plate is damaged the transmission must be removed to replace it.
