Noises problem
1998 Subaru Outback 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1998 Subaru Legacy Outback Limited, 2.5L engine. For the past 2 months, the front driver wheel/tire is making a squealing sound. To me, it sounds like when the tabs rub on the brakes, but I do not believe it is that because my brakes are still good. It doesnt do it constantly. Has been doing it on and off. And it does it when I hit the brakes, just driving with wheels straight or when I turn the wheel to the right, but not the left. Thanks for any help!

Hi:
If the brakes are good, chances are there is something in the pad composit that is causing it. If the sound doesn't go away after a couple hundred miles, have it rechecked for brake pads.
