1996 Subaru Outback timing belt

I have a 1996 subaru outback with a broken timing belt. The engine is a 2.5 liter SOHC type. Is this engine an "Interference" fit type?

Hi there,

this motor should not damage valves, but it is good practice to check engine compressions as a precaution.
