Hola! I am in Costa Rica and am having problems with my car. The steering wheel periodically starts grabbing/catching, especially when turning. It is starting to pull and vibrate harder, and I also hear a noise in the front wheel area. This happens when I am not in 4WD. I also recently had problems with the 4WD and had it fixed. This seems to be getting worse after that work was done, however, a couple of days go by with no problem, then it will happen for a few miles then stop, and now today it stayed that way for the last 30 miles. I do a lot of highway driving so am worried that this is serious.

I took it to a mechanic who sent me to a tire shop, who sent me back to a mechanic. They checked for ball joint/ tie rod problems, alignment, tire problems, etc. but found nothing. They said it might be the power steering.

Ideas?

Thank you!

I am in Rocky Mountain Time Zone.

Hi:
If it is grabbing, you need to have the rack and pinion checked.

Let me know what you find
