I have a 1999 Subaru Outback with a stuck hatchback. The remote opener seems to be functioning properly, since I can hear the locking mechanism operate when pressing the button, but it does not unlock the trunk. When I use the key to unlock the hatchback nothing hapens and the trunk is still locked tight!

Can someone please give me some procedural directions to fix this problem?

Thank you,

try removing the panels inside the car, sometimes you can get in there and unbolt or manually unlock the hatch
