A mechanic I have says that he would swap my "bad" 2.5L motor for a rebuilt 2.2L motor for me 1998 Subaru Legacy Outback with an Automatic Transmission. Is this a bad idea and will the 2.2L function ok in the car even though it came with a 2.5L. I was told that the 2.2L is a better motor than the 2.5 as well. Is this BS?
