The Check Engine Light has been on in my 94 Subaru Legacy wagon for some time now. I have tried to go by Autozone, Oriely's, etc to have them check the codes for me but their fault readers are not designed to connect to a car as old as mine. Can anybody tell me what kind of connection I have and where to find a fault reader that will connect to it. Even the local Subaru dealer did not have anything for my vintage of car. The port I am trying to connect to is located under the dash on the right hand side of the driver's side. If this is the wrong port does anyone known where the correct one is?

You have an OBDI system and it was replaced by OBDII in 1997. If you can find a shop that's be around a while they may have scanner. If not they can be bought for $40 to $60. Click on car parts site at bottom of reply.

Am I looking at the correct port to plug the OBD1 scanner into? The port I am looking at is on the far right of the drivers side under the dash.
