This vehicle has a monitoring system that we are going to have to use a scan tool in order to figure out what the actual codes are.
If the check engine light is flashing, then that simply means there is an issue that can damage the exhaust or engine so we need to get the codes as soon as we can.

There are many other things that can cause this vehicle to go into limp mode and watching the check engine light does not translate into the codes like it does on older vehicles.
If you don't have a scan tool, then we can take it to a parts store, but I would suggest trying to find the closest one possible.
Once we know what codes are there, we will be able to figure out the next steps.
