My car has been struggling to start up and idle during the mornings or when it is unused for a few hours (mostly when it is cold).
When I start the car in the morning, it hesitates a lot to remain on a normal idle rpm, sometimes it rumbles and lowers the rpm to 0 and the engine turns off.
When I turn the switch to "on", I hear a strange consistent noise coming from the throttle body and when I start the car, it sounds like small electric shocks.
These are the things I've done to my car to try to solve this with no avail:
- I changed the Vapor Canister Valve with a new one (http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Vapor-Canister-Solenoid-Valve-for-Mitsubishi-Lancer-Outlander-8657a049-CP588-/172465757898?hash=item2827c29eca:m:mUEg4y5s4rTu9yZkGFUxvyg&vxp=mtr).
- I changed the MAF with a new one (http://www.ebay.com/itm/04-09-MITSUBISHI-OEM-MASS-AIR-FLOW-METER-MR985187-E5T60171-/122297666374?hash=item1c79824b46)
- Changed the Throttle Body adapter to the Short Ram intake with a Silicone adapter
- Changed the Short Ram air intake filter
- The plastic intake manifold was also checked for leaks with my mechanic
- The throttle body was checked and cleaned by my mechanic
I did additional research myself and the car gives me a P0171 and I do not know what else to check. Here are some videos with the sounds if it helps:
