You changed out the entire column correct? The most likely issue is that the new keys Pass-Key chip is not the same as the old one and now the security system will not let the car start. The easiest solution would be to take the keys to a locksmith and explain what you did and have new keys made to fit the ignition that have the same resistor as the old keys but with the correct cut for the new cylinder. They may want ID and proof that you own the car, a simpler solution would be to have them come to you but that may be a lot more money. Calling first would be a great idea.
The other item could be that other damage was done that caused this. It would depend on what was damaged and if wires were cut.
