When driving when I hit about forty mph my truck shakes real bad helps turning wheel to the left to stop turning right makes it worse. Sometimes turning the steering wheel makes it stop. Was on the way to get my shocks and struts checks out. My steering wheel will go from no play. It pops then I have play. I was doing about forty it started rocking bad I hit the brakes and turned the wheel. I heard a pop and lost all steering. Ended up in a ditch. Had to tow it home. Something about the bracket that holds it to the axle is broke.

Hello there, it sounds like you are defiantly having steering component issues. If it is in the shop have them check all your suspension parts, tie rod ends, ball joints, the works, you may have multiple problems considering how many miles you have on it. But be safe and make sure they go through the whole thing.
