Starts and shuts off, but if I hold the gas pedal down it stays running as soon as I let it go it shuts off. I have check the low fuel pressure the one that come from the tank 55 - 60 PSI. One time I had it running for two seconds with fuel pressure gauge on it but the gauge needle did not stay stable flickering around. This happened after they replaced all three catalytic converters with aftermarket parts and camshaft sensor bank 1 sensor B. The codes come up on EOBD p0017, p0420, p0430. It said no code found on DTC and every time cleared the code they never went away. Also, I cleaned MAF and throttle body still the same.

P0017 stands for Camshaft Position B - Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 1) Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so I can hear the engine run? That way I can tell for sure what's going on. You can upload it here with your response. I would check the camshaft position sensor wiring connectors in case one got damaged when the repair work was being done. Here are the locations of the sensor in the images below. Also, I would check for vacuum leaks and service the throttle body.

These guides can help:

Use this guide when the engine is cold only

Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

Hello. The car cranks like two to three times before started that been going on for a while now. Once it has started the RPM will go up and it will slowly coming down. Once it gets to 600 RPMs the RPMs will drop to zero and the car will shut off. So, every time it starts, as long as I hold the gas pedal down it never shuts off but once I take it off it immediately shuts down. The engine ran fine with no noise at all times. The only thing I noticed is there is a noise coming from the throttle body area when the engine cut off. It sounds like the closing or opening of the throttle body plate. It took about a minute after everything shut off before hearing that noise. No rattling noise no noise at all I even raised RPMs up to 7,000 no noise when the truck is running. Thanks in advance.

It sounds like the engine is in good shape internally but I need to know if you performed the services in the guides above?

Hi, just talked to just answer car expert. They recommend all oxygen sensors to be replaced. What do you think? No codes for oxygen sensors. No vacuum leak but I was going to replace throttle body with new one.

I don't think the oxygen sensor will do anything, but the throttle body could. It would be good if you could upload a short video of the gengine cranking over so I can hear and see what's going on.

Thanks for the videos, they help. It sounds like the engine is hurt, I would remove all of the spark plugs and do a compression test to confirm.

This guide can help:

Please go over this guide and report back.
