Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. My vehicle starts, the rpm's rev to around 2500 at initial start up, then quickly drop to 500 or so, it then sputters out and stalls. The check engine light and the ABS lights are on. If I disconnect the MAF sensor it does the same thing, with the exception to stalling, and idle comes back up to about 800 and is much smoother. I changed plugs and coils, the coils were cracked, and plugs were shot. I am leaning toward MAF, and I am going to attempt to clean it and see what happens. I do not have access to pull codes, but I am going to do a fuel pressure test as well. Turbo clogged? Vacuum to the brake booster is good. Any other ideas?

Get the codes that's where you need to start. Simple code readers are cheap just replacing parts is expensive.

Code p1545. From what I read I need to buy vag/com to reset it. The battery was dead, and it sounds like she lost where she is. Does anyone know a way around this?

I see 163 confirmed fixes of replacing the throttle body for that code. So what are we talking about resetting?

Really? I didnt get a chance to do very much research, but the little I was able to read before I was dragged out of the house, had to do withthe pcm losing the throttlebody, and it needed to be reconfigured. No parts needed to be replaced. I wwasnt sure about it, so I will do some more research in the morning. I do appreciate that, maybe I could get away with cleaning the throttlebody?

I would trying cleaning the throttle body and do basic settings on measured value blocks 60 and 63. That would take a advanced professional scan tool that has those abilities.
