Usually, a crank sensor does not prevent the engine from cranking. The PCM will not start the engine if it cannot locate the position via the crank sensor.
Most likely cause based on this info is the PCM failed. If your PCM loses power/ground/or just fails internally then it will explain what happened. The easiest way at this point is to use the attached wiring diagram and trace your power through the starting circuit.
An easy way to test this is to hook a scan tool to the DLC and see if you can communicate with the PCM. If you can, then I am sure there will be some DTCs. If you get those, send them back to me and I can get you a better direction. If you cannot communicate with the PCM then it is either power/ground/or the module itself.
