Sputters when driving up hill

2001 DODGE RAM

The truck listed above is a 1500. It will sputter going up hill when I put my foot on the gas to keep my RPM's up to get up hill. I don't know what is going on.

First thing we need to fid out is if the check engine light has come on meaning there is 1 or more codes in the computer. here is a link to our tutorial on how to the codes:

Keep in mind that even if the light isn't on currently there is most likely stored codes in the system so I would recommend checking for codes even if the light isn't on.

I would also like to know when the last time it was tuned up, with that many miles on it you should be due for at least the second set of spark plugs and personally I would change the plug wires and air filter if it hasn't been done recently.
