Spitting and sputtering?

I changed the alternator, and it is still spitting and sputtering and saying reduced speed.

Hi,

Have you had the computer scanned for codes? If so, what are the codes you are getting?

What you described can be the result of several things. For example, things like fuel pressure, ignition spark, exhaust issues, and even engine vacuum leaks can cause it.

I have a question. What led you to replace the alternator? Was it no longer charging?

If you haven't already, have the computer scanned.

If it is safe to drive and you do not have a scan tool, most parts stores will do it free of charge.

This is where we need to start to eliminate things. Otherwise, it will become a guessing game. Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.
