I just installed a JVC stereo into my car-listed above convertible. I bought the connectors for the aftermarket stereo I hope all the connectors at minus blue wires one for power antenna. After connecting all the wires the stereo cuts on and has power but no music is being played. My old radio played music fine but when I hooked up the new radio no music is being played out of my speakers and I cannot find any problems with wires.

Most of these cars had very high-quality radios that used a remote amplifier under the passenger front seat. When you down-grade to an aftermarket radio, you have to bypass that amplifier.

Also be aware that only on Chrysler products, their amplifiers do not increase volume or power. Any radio will work with or without the amplifier, but the tone response won't be right. Chrysler amplifiers are only used for tone conditioning for the shape of the car's body. Since any Chrysler radio will run speakers directly or with an amplifier, you can try to do the same thing with your new radio. To do that, you will need to connect the "Power antenna" wire from the new radio to the wire in terminal number 7 in the black plug. The wire colors may not be the same as shown, so you have to go by location.

2000 was right in the middle of when they were changing from the two gray and black plugs to a single white plug with two rows of terminals. If you have that new-style plug, I'll find a drawing of it for you.

Believe it or not I just figured it out. I connected the power antenna (blue) to my ignition wire (red) and now have sound in all speakers including subs.

Dandy. You're doing the same thing this way. The only difference is the amplifier will be on any time the ignition switch is on, even if the radio is turned off. By using the radio's power antenna wire, the amp will only be powered up when the ignition switch and the radio are on.

The original radio developed very little bass. It was made up in the amplifier. Your new radio has a different frequency response so now, with the amplifier in there, you will find there is too much bass. If you can't turn it down enough to sound right, you'll still have to remove the amplifier.

Yes luckily the new stereo has a setting where I can turn down the bass, when it first cut on it was way to much and sounded horrible but it is much better now. Thanks for your help !

I blew a major fuse during a jump start of my car on a very cold day last week. I replaced fuse and battery and everything is ok except my radio will not work. Radio was not on during jump start. Please advise.

I have a 2001 Sebrig Sedan LX Chrysler. Yesterday, my power locks quit working, my radio doesn't work and my dome light doesn't work either. What could this be?

Thanks for your help!

Hi LynnI. Welcome to the forum. Look for the interior lights fuse. The circuit is always live and is used for the radio's memory circuit and possibly for the Body Computer which runs the locks.
