My car has ABS. Replaced brake booster and master cylinder. Brake is very soft. Tried to adjust brake booster push rod but is not adjustable. Bled brakes twice and has plenty of brake fluid (no leaks detected). Brand new booster, brand new master cylinder. Also has 'squeaking' sound when depressing brake pedal. Did not have soft pedal issues before replacing booster and master cylinder. Any help is appreciated. Plenty of fluid, no leak detected.

Hello my name is Dave.

My first question is if you "bench bled" the master cylinder? Here is a link to our tutorial on installing a master cylinder: https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-replace-a-brake-master-cylinder
I believe the tutorial will help you get the pedal back to normal.

Our mechanic (friend of the family) told me that he did bench bleed the master cylinder.
He did all the work as I was in another state at the time.
Could there be another cause for the soft pedal? Is the push rod non-adjustable because of having ABS? I'm relocating about 960 miles away and need to drive this vehicle. Just want to make sure this vehicle is safe for the journey. Thanks so much

On these you must use a scan tool to open the ABS valve when bleeding to get the air out. I shop will charge about $130.00. Please let us know what happens.
