Small evap leak

Small evap leak code.

New gas cap and the purge valve by the engine. A friends smoke test supposedly shows a tiny leak in the fuel tank, where the white plastic filler tube fitting goes on the black poly tank. As if the seal between them failed. Isn’t that a heat sealed part, with no gasket? I don’t have a smoke machine. How do I test, confirm and repair? Thank you.

If that is it, there is no seal that I have ever seen.
