Hi,

Am having some trouble figuring out what/if there is a problem with my car. I just had two new tires put on the front end and noticed that at speed on motorway I was getting wheel wobble. I knew this was a balance issue so had the re balanced and this solved this issue. The problem i'm having now is a slight vibration through the wheel at all speeds in a straight line. The best way I can describe the feeling I get is if I was getting wheel rub on the arches which I know this isn't. Also when parked and in low suspension mode it looks as if one side at the front is slightly lower but very slight. 5mm or so. Could this be related? The air suspension all works as it should. Looking for advice as I'm looking to sell on and buy a newer model but would like to know there was no issue before I take money from someone. Any help much appreciated.

Hi,

When you feel the vibration, is it more so in the steering wheel or the seat/floor in the vehicle? If you are feeling it at all speeds, I would first inspect the tires to make sure there isn't a shifted belt or uneven wear to the tread.

I'm attaching a link that explains how to fix a tire wear problem. The purpose of attaching it is to help you identify different wear patterns. Let me know if you see any of this on your tires.

If that isn't the issue, you could have a bent rim.

Let me know.

It's through the wheel. As I say its only slight but noticeable. If I think about it I can also feel through the throttle pedal.

Hi,

If it was just the steering, then I would have you start checking at the front wheels. The opposite for the seat or floor.

The idea that you feel it through the throttle pedal is a bit odd. Tell me, would you feel comfortable while driving in a safe area, to place the shifter in neutral while moving to see if the vibration stops? Since you feel it in the throttle pedal, it could be related to a motor mount or even a universal joint.

Let me know.
