Which has been happening for quite a while. Just today it started making a scraping noise, I think its coming from the back of the car. I read a few articles and it sounds like the shaking could be from the shoe and the noise is from drum or opposite. Any help is greatly appreciated.

It will usually be the front brakes that do this, but we should check all four brakes. Here are two guides to help walk you through the job with diagrams below to show you how on your car. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can hear the noise? that would be great. You can upload it here with your response.

and

Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

I did get the noise taken care of, it was the rear brakes shoes. The light shaking is jerking me; I dont believe its brakes, rotors because mechanic checked those out and the tires aren't that old. I have replaced the cv joint last summer I believe, the only thing I could think of maybe ball joints because I did have work done under there and I got a kit with a few things, I didn't need ball joints them, maybe I do now. I apologize for being long, hope this info can help you with giving me any ideas. Thanks a lot for all your help and time. Teresa

Hi,

I need more information. The original post was about a noise. Is that still the issue? I noticed you had the rear brakes replaced, so I'm not sure.

Also, if you are only feeling the noise/vibration when applying the brakes, there is a good chance it is the front brake rotors.

Here is a video showing front brake pads and rotors being replaced:

If it is something different such as a drivability issue (jerking), I need you to start a new thread. Simply copy and paste your new question and create a new link.

I hope you understand. We try to keep the treads specific to one topic so it is more helpful to others.

Let me know.

Take care and God Bless,

Joe
