Is the clutch slipping or anything like that? Have you checked to see if there is a vacuum hose leaking that can cause a noise? Has the check engine light come on?

Based on where the leak is located, it could affect performance. Is there anything that changes the noise once you reach that speed? For example, if you turn will the noise change?
