My car has been stuck between reverse and neutral.
I used the shift override to get it into neutral, so I could start the car, but it will not go into drive. It shifts into reverse and neutral as long as I use the shift override, but will not shift into park or drive.
I plan on replacing the shift interlock solenoid and the stop light switch, tomorrow August 3.
Are these two things the most likely cause?
Even with the override, the shifter is extremely difficult to move.
Is there anything else that is more likely to cause these symptoms than the solenoid and stop light switch?

I forgot, I have a quick video of the shifter and gear indicator on the dash, to illustrate my point more clearly.

Hi Keith how fun an easy one (I hope). This usually happens when the transmission range sensor goes out and need to be replaced. Below are diagrams below so you can see what you are in for when changing the part out. Thanks for the video BTW makes my job so much easier.

Please let us know what happens.

Thanks Ken. It was actually rusted frozen. A little bit of WD40 and elbow grease worked to get out going. My mechanic told me to add more WD40 to it with every oil change, to keep it going.
