Can you put an engine from a 2001 or 2002 Saturn SL2 into a 1999 Saturn SL2?

MAke sure the 8th digit of the VIN is the same on the replacement. If so you should be fine. When you start calling for price and availability for one at a recycler yard they can verify that those years are compatible.
