Engine Performance problem
1999 Saturn SL2 4 cyl Automatic 89,980 miles

I bought this car at 81,000 miles. It is burning about 2-3 quarts a week. It no has 89,980 miles on it. I was wondering how much it would cost to fix this problem. Also the check engine light is on. Any idea on what that could be?

U need to replace ur engine with that much oil use that will cost alot well over 1,000 labor and like 2200 for the engine u could probably shop around for the engine maybe find a good used one.U could try adding a qt of lucas oil treatment that helps to slow the burning down. In ur case I would get the gallon bottle of lucas its alot cheaper u just have to measure out a quart which isnt a big deal. As far as ur light goes if u can get me the codes it has I can help u out there. Let me know.

Thanks for your response. After hearing that, I think I may just try to get rid of it because it may not be worth it to spend that much money on fixing it. Thanks again!
