2002 Saturn SL1 high rpm, iac codes

Engine Performance problem
2002 Saturn SL1 4 cyl

I have a 2002 saturn sl SOHC, the car has a high idle and the error code read for "idle air control rpm higher than expected", I changed the IAC andthe car still hovers around 1700rpm and throws off the same code, i have checked the idle adjust ment, and have checked the volts coming from the PCM they are obout 10.5 and the book i have says thats within parameters. could there be something else causing this to happen?

Hi ataboo. Welcome to the forum. Suspect a vacuum leak. Check hoses for cracks. When the engine is still cold, use a spray bottle to squirt water on hoses and the intake manifold gasket. Engine speed will slow down and you might see the water get sucked in at the source of the leak. Don't overlook the fresh air tube.
