1996 Saturn SL1 Micochip in key

Could you please tell me if a 1996 Saturn SL1 has a microchip in the key? I am having problems statring my car every now and then and when I turn the key I get nothing. I have all dash board lights, head lights, ect. If I wait 10 to 15 min the car will start. I have had the battery checked and it is OK and am wondering if it could be a microchip issue? Please advise.

There is no micro chip or pass lock system in your car. You do have a starter disable though if you have a factory key less entry. So when it doesn't start you get a no crank no start?Also do you have a multimeter or test light so I can guide you threw so test's.
