My 98 sl2 auto trans 58000 mi goes 25 without a foot on the pedal. Took it to a local mech. He checked for vaccum leaks, found none, replaced idle air control. Problem not solved. What now?

Hey eigerogre,
I'm assuming your check engine light is on, was the vehicle scanned? If so what was the code? If there were no codes. Then I would recommend one more thorough vacuum leak check, then off to the dealership for a reflash of the PCM (a common issue with Saturns and idle issues) Let me know!

No light ever came on. No scan was done. By reading this forum, I replaced the coolant sensor with brass tip, old was cracked and plastic. PROBLEM SOLVED! My saturn idles great and gets better mileage. My hat is off to your forum and writers. Thank You.
