I have a 1999 SL2 Saturn with 85000 m. About 3 weeks ago replaced noisy muffler and tailpipe (not at Saturn dealer). They said they thought catalytic converter was ok. Yesterday car started missing and died in front of my house. Let it sit a minute - it started - drove to Saturn dealership. Ran fine all the way there. Put it on computer and it said faulty EMG valve which they replaced. Check engine light was never on. It is running ok now but since the new muffler and tailpipe when I shut the car off I hear a clicking sound for 1 - 2 minutes from underneath. Someone said bad catalytic converter makes a car run rough also. Could this have been my problem instead of EMG valve. I haven't driven it far today as I'm afraid it isn't fixed. I didn't mention to Saturn I had just replaced muffler and tailpipe because I didn't see the connection at the time. :?:

Not to worry, it is the expansion and contraction of the new exhaust. Quite common Good luck
