Recently I had to slam on the brakes and hit my horn because some pin head pulled out in front of me in heavy traffic. Two days later while my saturn was sitting in my driveway the horn started blowing. I finally had to crawl under the front end and diconnect the wiring to the horn to get it to stop.

my thoughts are that I may have damaged the contacts in the steering wheel. However, I can't seem to find a release mechanis to get the cover off to access the horn assembly.

can you offer advice or instructions to help correct this problem? (Inspection sticker expires at the end pf this month)

The horn contact pad is part of the airbag. If you are not familiar with airbags I would have it brought somewhere to avoid personal injury. If you are aware of the dangers. Disconnect the battery and then the two wire yellow connector under dash. Behind the steering wheel there are three access holes. If you use a small screw driver you can release the tabs on side at a time. One the airbag is out you can visually inspect the horn contacts for damage. Again I cant stress enough this procedure can cause the air bag to deploy if not properly removed
