We have a two fold issue. When its raining, we have shut the vehicle down and sometiimes the fan stays running, while other times there is a black small box that we can hear a noise coming from. If we do not pull the fuse to stop either then they will run the battery down. Once the rain stops and drys out then the noise or the fan will usually stop shortly thereafter. We have concluded that it is reacting with the rains. This also happens sometimes in the winter but only if the snow is relatively a wet snow. After pulling the fuse and installing after a couple hours the noise or the fan usually stops but waiting short time like 15-30 minutes doesn't usually stop the situation. Hi screenprintery,

Thank you for the donation.

Symptoms indicates a faulty fan relay that is sticking. Check if the relay is inverted allowing water to get into it. Try swapping with others and see if the problem goes away.

Thanks again for the donation. It does sound like a stuck cooling fan relay I have seen alot of them stick like that but never heard about them sticking when its wet outside although possible.U cannot swap the cooling fan relay for another under the hood though. Its a box unit that has relays and logic it more of a control module then just a relay. When it sticks again and the fan stays on try this get a screwdriver take the handle and tap on the module see if the fan turns off. The module is right along side the battery on its own bracket has a couple of connectors going to it. Cant miss it also the modules are even differnt from the 2.2 engine to the 3.0 engine. Let me know what u find.
