1997 Saab 900 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 180K miles
I'm not sure on the cylinders or the "all wheel drive" on my 1997 Saab 900SE Turbo. Problem: I have a bad starter ignition switch that I've been babying for a couple of mo's. I start the car then manually switch it from start to on. Was working fine then a couple of weeks ago my battery kept dying out, overnight mostly but also other times when car was turned off for a few hours. Fine after a jump. Had tested at Adv. Auto and ALL checked out fine. Battery is still draining on me but not to completely dead, now also the car doesn't want to start. It tries over and over to turn over and won't unless I completely re-charge the battery. Do you think my faulty starter ignition switch is creating more problems for me? As I said, the computer test says that starter, battery & alternator are all fine. I plan on getting the new ignition switch in a couple of weeks but can't right now. Also I tried disconnecting the battery when the car was not in use and that doesn't help. Still just turns over and over and won't start until I hook up the charger for a few minutes. Thank you! I have more Saab stories but this is my immediate problem!
