I'm having a very similar problem and have checked many (almost all) of the items he mentions in his correspondence. My 88 xjs after sitting for a few hours will start and run until it begins to load up with fuel, smoke like crazy from both tail pipes and then stall out. It will only start and repeat after sitting several hours. The oil level rises the more start attempts and has fuel in it. Fuel pressure in the rail is good, noid light on each injector tests good, spark plugs firing fine, etc. Is it possible to share with me what fixed Caveman2649 86 xjs V12. Thanks in advance for your time, I look forward to your comments.

If you are getting fuel in the oil. check for leaking injectors, this is really the only way this can happen.
