Running rough.

Very loud and annoying, particularly when idling.
Clue. It becomes less noisy when we turn the A/C off when we are idling.

I don't know if it's connected, but we do have frequent radiator issues and have had work done on the fuel system.
(The fuel tank leaks out the bottom if we put in a 1/2 tank.)

Thanks so much,

DD Long

Noise is something we are not of much help as we do not know what is emitting the noise and where it is coming from.

If the noise is related to the A/C, it could be a faulty compressor.

There is a leak with the fuel tank and you would need to remove it to check where the leak is soming from.

What issues are you having with the radiator?

Hi, KH:

Well, I think the radiator issue has been taken care of for now.
We are also going to be replacing the fuel tank soon.

The main issue is that noise.
I would have thought it was coming from under the hood itself.
And I was hoping that a clue to you or anyone, is how the loud rumbling becomes less when the A/C is turned off.
Could it be UNRELATED to the A/C *even though* the noise lessens when turning it off? Or does that indicate it IS the A/C?

Thanks,

DD

Noise problems has to be diagnosed to locate the source so we can't be guessing as the possibilities are limitless.
If it is not mechanically related and affected by the A/C operation, that could be bad engine mounts that is not absorbing the vibrations and the extra load of the A/C operations would amplify the noise and vibrations.

How does the noise sound like and does it go away when slight throttle pressure is applied?
