On many fuel injected cars, an idle air control valve maintains engine idle speed. On this vehicle, however, it is different. There could be many different things causing it.
First and most importantly, is the check engine light staying on when the engine does run? If it is, I need you to have the computer scanned to determine what codes are stored in the system. Without the code, I will be sending information that will most likely not be relevant.

I realize you may not have a scanner, but most parts stores will scan the computer for free. Which leads me to my next concern. Can the vehicle be driven to a parts store?
Let me know. If you do have the computer scanned, write down the codes and let me know what they are.
