Hi,
The only thing that leads me to believe it's electrical is when you say the lights flicker. The other things could be caused by a vacuum leak, low or high fuel pressure, and so on.
Have you checked to make sure the ground to the engine block from the battery is clean, tight, and free of corrosion?
If everything electrical is good, the flickering shouldn't happen. Commonly, that is a faulty voltage regulator, but that checked good. So, I would suggest checking grounds, connections at the battery, and so on.
If that all checks good, since it has a rough idle, checking for engine vacuum leaks is where I would start. It has a lot of miles on it, so it isn't uncommon for a hose to dry out, crack, or fall off.
