Rough idle

2005 MINI COOPER
90,000 MILES • 1.6L • 4 CYL • 2WD • MANUAL

When the car is a normal operating temperature and I'm idling in traffic the car idles rough, the organge engine light begins to flash, once the light goes back solid and I begin to move again the car sounds and drives rough. Turn it off and back on again and seems to run smooth until idling begins again. Tried replacing coil pack and plug leads but still the problem persists. Please help

You have a severe misfire. You need to have the codes read and they will help you pinpoint where it is happening.

Various ignition possibilities, fuel injection possibilities. mechanical valve possibilities ranging from $100 to $5000. Now, maybe you should find out what the problem is.
