Good morning,

No, you need a code reader to access the ECM for codes. You can have them read for free at a parts store.

What is the exact issue?

I live 15 miles from the auto parts store where they could scan it. The problem is the car wont make the trip. Is there anyway to retrieve codes without a scanner. It doesn't have any power. Meaning it seems to be in limp mode.

Again, no, not without a code reader.

What do you mean by limp mode? No response from the pedal or the transmission is stuck in 1 gear?

Meaning that I took it out for a drive this morning got about 5 miles down the road and it starts giving out. The car would barely go. There was a plastic piece in the upper intake manifold on the inside of it where it connects to the throttle body. It was broken when I removed it. So I put the manifold back on after replacing the rear three spark plugs and wires. Now it doesn't want to go hardly at all. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks.
